Southern California is the perfect “Local” market 365-days a year. Whether you run a U-Pick strawberry or blueberry operation, produce greenhouse herbs, or grow a specialty crop for our diverse population, we have something in common and I’d enjoy working with you.
I began my agriculture career working at a University of California Research facility in Irvine where I learned, first-hand, that we can grow almost anything here. Over the last 24 years (10 at UC), I’ve worked as tractor driver, field labor, data collector, research associate as well as lead grower, field manager and PCA for a variety of row crops - primarily strawberries - but also all the major culinary herbs including basil, chives, tarragon and edible flowers (both in-ground and under hoops), beans, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, squash, and melons. In my personal garden, I also grow saffron, ginger, peas, fava, dill, mint chard and kales.
Services I offer for row crops include overall crop management (sustainable, organic or regenerative if you have the animals), weekly scouting contracts, production calendars, installation and data collection for on-farm variety trials, as well as development of Organic Management Plans, and other related certification and regulatory paperwork.
Additionally, I have a passion for, and experience with, planning, planting and growing insectary hedgerows and developing and implementing erosion control strategies (wind and water). Let’s work together to optimize and conserve our on-farm natural resources.
